About Art With Christy Charlot

  • Colorful children's sneaker decorated with graffiti-style drawings and comic characters.

    Origin

The reason I started this workshop goes back to my childhood. I was eight years old in elementary school, looking for a creative outlet that wasn’t tied to homework or stress. I wanted something fun, expressive, and led by someone who truly understood kids.

As I got older, I realized that kind of program still didn’t exist. So I created it.

After years of leading workshops and building my brand as a visual artist, I decided to go all in. I turned my vision into a year-round Custom Sneaker Workshop built specifically for youth.

    Mission

My mission is to uplift youth through creativity, confidence, and connection. I use custom sneaker art to support social emotional well-being and give kids a meaningful space to express themselves.

Every workshop is designed to help kids feel seen, proud, and inspired by what they create both on their sneakers and within themselves.

    Purpose

This workshop was created to leave an imprint. Every session gives kids a chance to create something meaningful while feeling supported, focused, and free. The purpose is simple. To spark pride. To build belief. To remind every child that their voice, their vision, and their imagination deserve a place in the world. By the time they leave, they’re not just holding a sneaker. They’re holding proof that they can turn an idea into something real.

The top section shows a street with shops, including a clothing store and jewelry store, with dialogue bubbles and signs, and characters talking to each other. The middle and bottom sections are filled with a mass of overlapping faces, some with speech bubbles, and large eyes, all drawn in a whimsical, surreal style. The overall scene is lively and chaotic, with a mix of human and fantastical elements.

Make A Difference

This workshop is where healing, joy, and creativity come together. It’s built to support social emotional well-being in a way that feels fun, natural, and deeply personal to every child who attends.

Each session is designed to:

• Give kids a safe space to release emotions
• Boost self-esteem through hands-on creation
• Help them turn thoughts and feelings into wearable, meaningful art

And at the heart of it all is a sense of freedom. Kids show up excited, not realizing they’re being nurtured the entire time. The art draws them in. The process keeps them grounded. The results stay with them.

This isn’t just an activity. It’s a transformational experience built to last.
